FCAT Writes
FCAT Writing Test will be Tuesday, February 9th during 1st and 2nd periods. Students should report to the following locations for testing:
•8th grade—Report to your regularly scheduled 1st period class
•All 7th graders will go directly to the gym and remain there until testing is over.
•10th grade--Report to the following classrooms for testing:
10-A: Mrs. Southwell (middle school hall)
10-B: Coach Stephenson (middle school hall)
10-C: Ms. Johnston (ag room)

 

HELP FOR HAITI!
The Sr. Beta club is sponsoring a "Hornets Help Haiti" competition.
Beginning Wednesday, one teacher per grade level will be collecting money for that grade group.
A sign in the lunchroom will be displaying daily totals. The winning grade group will earn an ice cream sundae party.
Money will be collected beginning 1st period Wednesday, Feb. 3 through 7th period, Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Thank you for giving to help the Haitian people who are still suffering from the earthquake that devastated their island.

Seniors
Senior Baby Pictures for the yearbook need to be turned in to Mrs. Heather Braxton by Monday, February 1st. Also, Yearbook will begin selling Senior ads next Monday, February 1st. The price for an ad is $100 for a full page and $50 for a half page. Please see Kaitlyn Baxley, Kaylie Scott or Mrs. Ohler to purchase your page beginning Monday.
 

Track
First day of girls and boys track practice will be February 16 from 3 pm to 4 pm at the football field. You must have your physical form and all other forms turned in to Coach Pittman before you can practice.

SENIORS!
Herff Jones will be delivering senior supplies on February 9th. Seniors should be prepared to pay their remaining balances (see Mrs. Braxton for amount) on this date.

Middle School Volleyball
Middle School Volleyball is almost here! There will be having another try-out sometime in the next few weeks so if interested you need to get a physical before try-outs begin. Try-outs are for grades 6-8. You will not be allowed to try-out without a physical!

Where: Marianna Blue Springs Assembly
Who: Football players from 2 to 4 Division 1 teams will assist
with great music, food, fellowship, sports competitions.
Cost: $50 includes retreat and t-shirt
open to any high school student

Baseball T’s
There are CHS Baseball tee shirts on sale. The shirts are gray and cost $12. There are some of every size right now and will be on sale until all shirts are gone. If interested see Coach Ohler.

2009 yearbooks still on sale (will be delivered week of Thanksgiving) for $40! GREAT DEAL: upon purchase of a 2009 yearbook for $40 you can also get a previous year's book for an additional $10 Anyone interested in only a previous year's book the price is currently $20 while supplies last.

Now is the time to begin researching colleges and completing applications! Many colleges give priority to applicants who complete paperwork NOW. The University of Florida's preferred application period is July 1 - November 1 and many other colleges have similar deadlines. Please see guidance for questions/assistance with this process.
