As educators, we believe that school performance and future success are enhanced by appropriate dress and grooming. Parents/guardians are strongly urged to work closely with the school to insure their child’s adherence to high standards of dress and grooming. Parents will be serving the welfare of our students and helping the school by emphasizing standards of neatness, cleanliness, safety, and decency in dress and grooming.

1. Hoods are not allowed to be worn in school buildings during the 2009-10 school year. Hats toboggans, headbands, bandannas, sunglasses, stocking caps, and other headgear are not allowed on campus unless part of a sports uniform, previously approved for medical or religious reasons or special school activities by administration. Hoods on sweatshirts/jackets should not be worn in buildings. Combs should be kept in pockets/purses NOT IN hair.
2. Shirts cannot have holes and must be tucked in.
3. Pants cannot have holes and must be pulled up to the waistline.
4. Sleep wear, loungewear, fleece sweat pants, bedroom shoes/slippers are not allowed. No shoes with wheels are allowed.
5. Clothing with inappropriate advertisements, monograms, emblems, insignias or statements that are offensive, vulgar, or inflammatory is prohibited. (references to alcohol, tobacco, profanity, drugs, gangs, promoting violence, sexual innuendo, etc. are not allowed)
6. Tops must be suitable for a work and learning environment and cannot reveal cleavage.
7. All shoulder straps must be a minimum of 3 inches wide for females. Minimum three-inch shoulder coverage on all tops. All tops should have a modest neckline with no cleavage showing. Short blouses or shirts are not acceptable at school. The mid-section, or stomach areas, must be covered. Shirts must overlap the bottom wearing apparel while standing or sitting. If the mid-section (back or stomach areas) is exposed when the hands are extended to shoulder level, the shirt is too short. Strapless dresses and tops, halter-tops, muscle shirts, one-shoulder strap, exposed backs, spaghetti straps, racer back tops, basketball jerseys, and tank shirts are prohibited. Clothing worn underneath sheer shirts, jackets, coats, or sweaters must meet dress code requirements.
8. Muscle shirts or sleeveless shirts are not allowed to be worn by males.
9. See-through clothing is not allowed.
10. Tight fitting clothing is not allowed (leggings, bicycle shorts, tights, etc)
11. Oversized pants and shirts are not allowed.
12. Shorts, skirts and dresses must be knee length or longer.
13. Body piercing (other than ear piercing) is unacceptable.
14. Any clothing that interferes with the educational process is not acceptable.
